Satyendra Verma is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Maryland. He teaches Economic Statistics (ECON 230) and Microeconomics (ECON 306). He specializes in Economics of Technical (Cost and Production Functions), and Economics of Retirement Income (Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Plans). Satyendra was Assistant Professor at University of Rajasthan in India (1969-1979), a Fulbright Scholar (1979), and earned his PhD in Economics from the University of Maryland in 1986. He has worked at the World Bank (1992-95), and was Senior Research Advisor at AARP (1995-2012) where he published several research papers and developed a multi-media econometric model of AARP membership. Satyendra is recipient of Teaching Excellence Award; he has been associated with the Department of Economics as an Adjunct faculty (1999-2006) and since 2012 till present.
