Cody Tuttle (Economics PhD 2020) has been awarded The Caramello Distinguished Dissertation Award from the University of Maryland for his dissertation titled "Essays on Government Responses to Crime and Racial Inequality.” His dissertation adviser was Professor Melissa Kearney. This award recognizes original work that makes an "unusually significant contribution to the discipline" of Social Sciences. Cody's dissertation was nominated by the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences and was named a winner by a multi-disciplinary campus committee. Cody is now an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Texas at Austin, currently on-leave as a postdoctoral fellow at Princeton University.
