Economics Association of Maryland (EAM):

The Economics Association of Maryland provides an opportunity to get to know your fellow students outside the classroom. This undergraduate club is a great way to learn about new developments in the Department, employment opportunities, fellowships, and graduate school requirements. The meetings are quite diverse, ranging from socials to scholarly talks to "information" sessions, where courses and faculty are frankly evaluated "off the record". Friendships made at EAM meetings facilitate formation of study groups and networking for job contacts. The Economics Association of Maryland also offers you an excellent forum to make your opinions known to the Economics Department.

Women in Economics (WIE):

Women in Economics (WIE) serves to function as a social network and safe space for women and non-binary individuals studying economics to come together with their allies to learn from each others’ experiences. WIE hopes to provide both professional and emotional support for traditionally underrepresented groups within the field of economics, and to foster relationships that will lead to the success of our members in their time at UMD and later in their careers. At the core of the club is its commitment to inclusivity and sense of community. The goal is for all WIE members to feel supported, and for them to benefit from the support system of WIE and the greater economics community at UMD.
